Attention – All Credentialing Candidates
We are excited to announce that SMC is hosting an in-person History & Polity Course. This is a required course for all Local Ministerial Candidates and those in the Consecrated Deacon process.
The purpose of this course is to present in brief form the origin, development, beliefs, and practices of the Free Methodist Church, which has a rich heritage and history. The student will likely already be acquainted with much of the content of this study. S/he should give special attention to the matters with which he/she is not yet familiar. It is hoped he/she will enjoy reviewing the things already known, and evaluating his/her comprehension of what the church stands for, and why, and trying to find out something of the current mission of the Free Methodist Church. This course is required for ordination in the Free Methodist Church but could be taken by someone interested in the history and polity of the Free Methodist Church.
This in-person course, taught by Pastor John Lane, is being offered on November 15-16 (Friday evening 6-9pm, and all-day Saturday 9am-6pm), at The Arbor.
For SMC candidates, each student is asked to pay $50 plus books; and, each church is asked to pay $50 on behalf of their candidate. Students may pay at the time of registration; churches will be invoiced by SMC after the course is concluded.
For those who are NOT a SMC credentialing candidate but would like to attend, please register using the link below: Cost is $100 plus books
Registration Deadline is November 8!
If you have any questions, please reach out to Julie Weber.
